Last week, DC JWJ and our allies on the Keep DC Healthy campaign delivered 1,581 postcards to the DC Council. Each card represented a DC resident commited to preserving the DC Healthcare Alliance. Below, you can see Reina speaking to Chairman Mendelson as he holds all 1,581 cards we delivered. She's telling him about what will happen to her family if he allows the planned cuts to go forward and end her health coverage.

El programa Alianza ha sido y sigue hacienda una gran oportunidad de mantenernos sanos tanto para mi y mi familia, como comunidad inmigrante da cobertura médica es muy necesario tenerlo por todas las enfermedades que hay en la actualidad, o con solo el chequeo anual de mio y de los seres amados. The Alliance program has been and continues to be a great opportunity for me and my family to stay healthy. As an immigrant community, medical coverage is very necessary because of all the diseases that exist today, or even just for my annual checkup and those of my loved ones. I ask that you have compassion for the entire community because we are all human beings. Thank you very much.
