I’m excited to share an important milestone in our work to advance economic and workplace justice for low-wage and immigrant workers. This week, Justicia Lab, Pro Bono Net, and the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) are proud to the launch of Reclamo AI, a secure, multilingual chatbot that helps New Yorkers understand and take action against wage theft.
 

Wage theft remains one of the most pervasive forms of economic injustice, costing workers in New York billions of dollars each year. Reclamo AI tackles this challenge head-on by giving workers an accessible, reliable tool to:

• Understand their rights under state and federal wage laws

• Identify potential wage violations

• Connect directly with legal advocates when needed
   

Reclamo AI is the product of deep collaboration with community organizations, legal experts, and worker advocates. By combining responsible AI with human-centered design, we’re dramatically reducing the time it takes to initiate a wage theft claim and giving workers a tool they can safely use in their own language, on their own terms.

As we move into the next phase of our work, we see significant opportunities to scale Reclamo AI, strengthen enforcement, and support thousands more workers across New York and beyond. We’re eager to share more about the roadmap ahead and explore partnerships that can help expand this impact.
