Last night, Miami made history. Voters elected my good friend as our first Democratic Mayor in nearly 30 years — and we did it in a landslide.
As a lifelong Miami resident, a husband and a father raising my family here, I’m excited to finally have a Mayor who will fight for us.
And as a candidate for Congress, I’m fired up, because what happened last night changes everything.
Voters across Miami sent a clear message: We’re done with corruption. We’re done with dysfunction. We’re ready for leadership that tackles the affordability crisis, restores trust, and puts families first.
And I’m hearing that same demand every day across FL-27.

I also wanted to share why Mayor-elect Higgins' win matters so much for our race.
She won by a commanding 19-point margin, outperforming the Harris 2024 results in the City of Miami by 18 points.
That doesn’t happen by accident. It happens when:
* Democrats turn out in force
* Independent voters break decisively for change
* Sensible Republicans cross over because they want stability and honest leadership
This coalition is exactly the one we need to defeat Maria Salazar — and it clearly exists. Last night proved it.
