Jack — the *worst* political ad of all time just dropped. And it’s targeting me!
The “Leading the Future” super PAC — funded by $100 million from AI billionaires — has made me their first target and today, they released their first ad against me.
It is…terrible. It criticizes me for fighting for common-sense AI regulations — something that’s broadly popular! — but doesn’t spend a single second arguing their case, and it doesn’t give people any actual reason to support them (or to hate me).
So, two things here:
1. The reason they put this ad out right now, of all times, is very calculated. The RAISE Act — my legislation that creates reasonable AI safety standards — is sitting on Governor Hochul’s desk, and they want to send a message to her that if she signs it, they’ll come after her like they’re coming after me. Luckily for New Yorkers, Kathy Hochul is not a leader who can be strong-armed by special interests!
2. No matter how terrible the ad is, any attack ad running against me this early in the election is something we need to pay close attention to — and fight back against. I may never have the hundreds of millions of dollars these Big Tech billionaires are throwing around, but I do have an incredible team of supporters like you who I know have my back.
So today I’m asking you to help me counter these attacks. They’re only going to get worse from here on out, so we need to be ready.
