In what can only be called an act of unchecked aggression, a federal ICE agent just fired pepper spray at Congresswoman Adelita Grijalva during a raid on a Tucson restaurant.
When Rep. Grijalva calmly identified herself and asked for clarification, ICE agents pushed her aside and sprayed her in the face. “I was sprayed in the face by a very aggressive agent, pushed around by others, when I literally was not being aggressive, I was asking for clarification, which is my right as a member of Congress,” Grijalva said.
Enough is enough. Congress cannot keep funneling billions in taxpayer dollars to an agency that terrorizes immigrants, families, and even members of Congress in plain daylight.
Rep. Grijalva is calling for transparency and accountability for ICE NOW – let’s join her and overwhelm Congress with our demand that they stop writing blank checks to ICE to terrorize our communities.

Let’s be clear: this is not an isolated incident. ICE’s violence is standard operating procedure. But ICE agents are now brazen enough to assault a sitting member of Congress, sprayed in public, simply for asking questions on behalf of her community.
Imagine how ICE treats defenseless immigrants, refugees, and workers – those without the privilege or power to speak out. If federal agents will fire pellets at an elected official, there is no limit to the brutality they inflict on everyday people. This cannot go on.
We are witnessing a crisis of accountability. ICE has become a rogue agency, weaponized against immigrants, and emboldened to attack anyone in their way – including our own representatives. Congress holds the power of the purse. But instead of investing in community safety, education and healthcare, our lawmakers are pumping BILLIONS into ICE’s budget to fund raids, detention, and terror.
