Indivisibles,
Tis the season to receive a deluge of fundraising emails. Let this be your
last one from Indivisible this year. Two years ago we tried this deal out,
and it worked fantastically, so we’re trying it again! Let me explain:
I am incredibly proud of Indivisible’s incredible, history-making team of
organizers, communicators, policy nerds, writers, and campaigners who are
tirelessly working to make the world safe for democracy. As co-executive
director, part of my job is getting resources for this team so they can do
their job. And one of the cool things about Indivisible is that our single
largest source of funding is the grassroots movement itself.
Most of our emails from Indivisible are about news or training or strategy
or tactics, but you also see fundraising emails from us every week or two
that support that work.
Fundraising emails like this are a big part of how we’ve been able to lead
the largest wave of grassroots, pro-democracy organizing in the history of
the country. It’s how we were able to hit the ground running immediately
after last year’s election, and orchestrate town halls across the country,
pull off Hands Off, No Kings I, and No Kings II, and contribute to the
best election night I’ve seen in a decade. Because people from every nook
and cranny of the country believe enough in the Indivisible movement to
send a few bucks, we get to invest in this movement to take on the
fascists and protect our democracy.
I think that’s a pretty good deal, but there’s a problem with it: After
you donate, you’re still on our email list. And that means you still
receive future emails for the rest of this month asking for money. How
annoying is that? I experience this every year with NPR after I give to
their end-of-year fundraising drive. Dammit, Steve Inskeep, I already
gave!
You can’t blame radio for being radio, but here at Indivisible, we can do
things a little differently.
So let’s make a deal: [ [link removed] ]If you donate in response to this email, we won’t
send you any more fundraising emails for the rest of this year.
If you've saved your information with ActBlue Express Lane, your donation
to Indivisible Action will go through immediately:

If you’re reading at this point in the email, you know this work is
historically impactful. American democracy has been on the precipice. This
has been a dark, hellish year. But Indivisible has been a bright spot. At
a time when elites in businesses, media, universities, law firms, and even
the Democratic Congress collapsed, Indivisible rushed in to rally the
troops. Days after the election, we launched a new Indivisible guide
firmly planting the movement in the fighting opposition. We haven’t looked
back since. Looking ahead to 2026, we’ve got a lot of battles in front of
us, and we’re ready to fight and win.
We want to strengthen the Democratic Party in next year’s primaries, we
want to pull off even larger No Kings days, we want to drive the biggest
GOTV midterm turnout in history, and we want to protect the results of the
election when the regime inevitably tries to pull some shenanigans.
But we won’t be able to fund the organizing, voter contact,
communications, and movement-building work without your support, and the
support of thousands of others. That’s what grassroots movement building
looks like. You’ve seen with your own eyes what this team working with
this movement can accomplish. Don’t you want to see more of that next
year?
Ok that’s it! That’s my spiel. [ [link removed] ]If you’d like to avoid hearing more
spiels this month, take a minute to make an end-of-year investment into
defeating this regime. If you do, you’ll be off the fundraising list!
Indivisible won’t bug you for money again this year. You can take a load
off. Close the laptop screen. Turn off the phone. Spend some quality time
with your favorite humans. And join us next year in the streets, on the
campaigns, and in the voting booths for the 250th anniversary of this
country of ours that we love enough to defend. One nation, Indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.
In solidarity,
Ezra Levin
Co-Executive Director, Indivisible

SMALL PRINT (Actually normal size because we want you to read it): Our
email systems are organized by email address, so the way we’ll do this is
by excluding whatever email you use to donate from upcoming fundraising
emails. If you have multiple emails subscribed in our system, those other
emails might still be included on fundraising pitches, so email us
directly and we can consolidate your email addresses (probably better for
you in the long run anyway!).
This deal applies to fundraising emails, but sometimes we send a
newsletter or action-related email that includes a P.S. with a fundraising
link. We wanna make sure you still get those important messages so just
ignore those P.S.s.
