Dear Supporter,

For months, the Social Security Administration (SSA) has been forced to operate under devastating budget shortfalls, leaving millions of beneficiaries struggling to access their earned benefits.

Instead of fixing the problem, current SSA leadership has rolled out reckless policies that put YOUR personal information at risk and make it harder for Americans to get the help they need. And this situation could get even worse …

SSA now wants to cut in half the number of people that go to its field offices in the 2026 fiscal year, even as wait times and backlogs remain high.

That’s why I urge you to sign the National Committee’s Emergency Petition to Congress to Pass the “Repairing Social Security After Trump and DOGE Act,” ( [link removed] ) a new bill to restore benefits and justice for Americans who were robbed of their Social Security by the Trump Administration’s chaos and cruelty.

Here’s a quick reminder of what’s taken place at SSA over the past year:

Critical underfunding and staffing cuts have reduced essential customer service and made it harder for seniors, people with disabilities and retirees to get the help they need.

Reckless leadership decisions at SSA have jeopardized the privacy of beneficiaries, exposing sensitive personal information.

Billionaires, like Elon Musk, and their allies in Congress are pushing policies designed to undermine public confidence in Social Security, all while protecting and exponentially growing their own fortunes.

And according to a new 57-page report issued to Congress, the claim of “massive waste, fraud and abuse” in Social Security, including thousands of dead people collecting benefits, touted by billionaire Elon Musk and President Trump was total nonsense.

That’s why we cannot allow the disinformation campaign about Social Security to distract us from what’s really happening under the radar at SSA — radical changes that put your earned benefits at risk.

Please help the National Committee keep the focus where it belongs: on protecting Social Security!

The chaos in Washington may be temporary. But the damage to Social Security could be permanent if we don’t act to safeguard it. Please sign our urgent petition today! ( [link removed] )

Sincerely,

Max Richtman
