In the wealthiest nation on earth, any person left without health coverage
is a moral failing.

For far too many people in this country, our health care system can feel
designed to deny and delay care, raise the price on medication, or hit you
with a surprise bill after you’ve done everything “right.”

That’s not a health care system — it’s a sickness system.

Here’s what I believe: we have to take on the system that too often puts
corporate interests ahead of everyday people.

When insurance companies, drug manufacturers, and giant health care
conglomerates have the most influence in the lawmaking process, the result
will always be higher costs, fewer choices, and people forced into
impossible decisions about their health.

But a system that actually puts people first starts with universal
coverage as the goal — and real, concrete steps to get there like
protecting and expanding access, lowering costs, and strengthening
Medicare, including dental, vision, and hearing, while ensuring no one is
priced out of the care they need.

And to build that kind of system, the people driving the conversation have
to be the people living it — patients, caregivers, and providers — not the
industries profiting off of people getting sick.

But taking on the insurance industry and Big Pharma won’t be
easy. It takes a lot of
resources to fight back against billionaires who are ready to pour in
whatever amount it takes to protect their profits.

That’s why I need your support today.
