I’m incredibly proud to be part of the team at United We Dream, and to have this chance to tell my story.
To me, working at UWD means feeling confident that the work I do aligns with my moral compass and my personal values. Every day, I get to work with peers and members who love immigrants and understand the power that we hold. I can’t imagine working anywhere else.
Immigrant youth are at the heart of everything we do, and they will always be our top priority. Their dreams and potential inspire our mission every day!
One of my favorite programs I was part of this year was our Summer of Dreams. I loved being a part of it — I got to see our members put together beautiful, safe, and meaningful community events in their cities. Having spaces like that during this turbulent time allowed members to connect and bring their friends, families and communities together.
I can't think of a better way to prioritize collective care and truly support one another — spreading joy, love, and hope through food, games, bonfires, and so much more!
Getting to help our members plan and bring their events to life during the Summer of Dreams has been an incredibly rewarding experience for me.
One of the things I most appreciate about working at UWD is that it’s inspiring and hopeful. We don’t give in to the negative, but always look ahead — because immigrant youth, along with our members and allies, are working for the future our communities need. At the end of the day, even if ONE person saw our work and felt moved to join the movement, our work has been worthwhile.
