Dear Friend,

As a baseball coach, I challenged my players to work hard, work together, and get better. These are values I take with me each day on the campaign trail. And I hope by working harder together we can give Iowans a Senator they deserve.

Baseball and politics are similar in many ways. The World Series champion is never determined in the first five games - like political campaigns aren’t won or lost in the first few weeks. The team with the best record can get beat on any given day by a team that connects better with the ball and is better prepared - like political campaigns when incumbents are beaten by an opponent who connects better with voters and puts up a ground game second to none.

Our team is preparing to defeat Joni Ernst, the incumbent who is out of touch with everyday Iowans.

In baseball if you don't have a pitcher, outfielder or batter, you can't win - it takes everyone. Our campaign needs everyone on the field to win, and I can't do this alone.

In the spirit of the MLB All-Star Game, I hope you could take a minute to donate to our campaign. The first All-Star game was played in 1933, the first All-Star MVP was established in 1962, the longest All-Star game was in 2008, and the American League has won 44 All-Star games.

Can you chip in $19.33, $19.62, $20.08 or $44.00 to help us continue to build a grassroots campaign and help me defeat Joni Ernst and the special interests and D.C. insiders that continue to support her?

Also, please take a moment to cast your vote for who will win the MLB All-Star game tonight.

Thank you for your support,

Eddie
