There are so many heartbreaking stories and awful videos that have emerged from the Trump administration’s cruel immigration actions, but there’s one in particular I need to share with you today.

She was a hard working member of our community in Wendell who had just bought a home. She was following the rules, navigating the legal asylum process with no criminal record.

She was simply one of us.

Now, because of the cruelty of the Trump administration, she sits in a detention cell, denied bond. Not because she is a danger, but because cruelty is the point.

Her story is one of many, and it reveals the brutal truth: the Trump administration’s immigration policies aren’t about security, but about a systematic effort to punish people for seeking refuge.

It's happening right here in our neighborhoods. This cannot stand — we MUST speak out.
