Hi JOHN,
Members of Congress should serve the American people — not use their positions to get rich.
But right now, lawmakers can buy and sell stocks in the same industries they regulate. It’s textbook corruption, and it’s one of the reasons people don’t trust Washington to work for them.
I’m working to pass my bipartisan bill that would finally ban congressional stock trading. No legislation with loopholes or “blind trusts” that aren’t really blind – just a clear rule that if you want to serve in Congress, you can’t trade individual stocks.
But here’s the thing: the same people who benefit from the status quo are working hard to keep their power, and they’d love nothing more than to replace this seat with another vote against reform. We can’t let them.
If you want a Congress that works for the public, not for personal financial gain, will you chip in $ or any amount today to help me keep fighting for you? [[link removed]]

This shouldn’t be controversial. It’s basic ethics. And until this bill becomes law, I’m going to keep pushing.
Thank you for standing with me,
— Seth
