Dear John,

We at ASAN wish you a happy holiday season. We are taking this time to reflect on this past year, the work we have done together, and the projects that still need to be finished. None of this, past, present, or future, would be possible without support from our grassroots. From one community builder to another, thank you for being part of our community.

This past year, ASAN has been hard at work fighting against these sudden and outrageous attacks against the autistic community as the federal government abandoned known science in favor of old dangerous lies. With your support, we hosted a webinar on how research works [[link removed]] and what makes a research project trustworthy science. Additionally, we released webinars on IDEA and 504 [[link removed]] as well as the Olmstead decision [[link removed]] to help self advocates understand the impact of recent attacks on education and Medicaid. As the attacks on the rights of people with disabilities have continued, we began our regular plain language roundups to help our community stay up to date on how we can take action. As we prepare to continue this work in 2026, we are reaching out to you for assistance.

Here’s how you can help:
* Consider a recurring donation -- our fun membership program [[link removed]] makes it easy, plus we thank you for your support with exclusive perks!
* Show your support with our merchandise [[link removed]]. We have holiday cards and gifts you can buy for your loved ones!
* Share our work with your friends and family, or on social media. The more people hear about us, the more people our resources can reach.
* Start a Facebook Fundraiser [[link removed]]! This is a great way to support us if you’re not able to give yourself, as there’s no need to contribute to your own fundraiser, just share with your friends.
* Consider supporting ASAN [[link removed]] during your end-of-year giving. Donations are tax deductible.

We already know that this fight for our community is far from over. We will work to defend public health, fight for home and community based services, and see that our voices will be heard where they matter most. Most importantly, we will be working in our community so that all self-advocates have a say in policy decisions that affect us. We know we will face many challenges, but, piece by piece and brick by brick, we will be here, protecting our community.

We hope that you can join us – we truly can’t do this work without you. [[link removed]]

Sincerely,
All of us at ASAN
