I want to share an important victory that protects survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence.
Because of our lawsuit, the U.S. Department of Justice has now reversed course and agreed to a binding resolution ensuring:
- No survivor — regardless of immigration status — will be denied VOCA or VAWA legal services
- No Maryland organization will be forced to verify immigration documents before helping survivors
- No funds already awarded will be stripped or restricted
Will you chip in $5 or more to my campaign today to help us protect those who need us most?
This is a significant victory for survivors who rely on these programs to escape abuse, protect their children, secure housing, and rebuild their lives.
But friend, the fact that this fight was even necessary tells us everything we need to know about the moment we’re living in.
The Trump administration is using chaos, cruelty, and unlawful restrictions to reshape federal policy — and the consequences fall hardest on the most vulnerable.
I am fighting this administration’s lawless overreach every single week. But I cannot do it without a strong, grassroots-powered campaign behind me. Can I count on you to join in this fight by contributing just $5 today?
