The Trump administration is trying to supercharge its voter purges and mass deportations by feeding even more personal data from across government agencies into the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).1,2

Trump is pushing for his Social Security Administration (SSA) to send data to DHS to aid this government-wide surveillance and fuel violent ICE raids. 3 Social Security should not be aiding Trump’s authoritarian immigration policies.

Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) is a system meant for determining eligibility for public benefits, not citizenship status or voting eligibility. Yet, SAVE is the database Trump is expanding far beyond its intended use at DHS. It’s a threat to every single person in America.4

18 State Attorneys General spoke out against Trump collecting private data on U.S. citizens to expand SAVE. “The Trump Administration has made no secret of its plan to build a mass surveillance machine. The expansion of SAVE to include data on U.S. citizens is the latest salvo in this dystopian power grab,” said California Attorney General Rob Bonta.5

SSA’s mission is to provide a social safety net, not to assist in ICE’s terror. The agency must refuse to fuel Trump’s invasive surveillance and deportation regime.
