As an activist, former teacher, and parent, I am deeply concerned. Extremists are driving good teachers out of careers they once dreamed of — and they’re doing it on purpose. Why?

Because teachers dare to teach our children to:

• Think critically
• Understand and accept people with different identities
• Learn from our history so we can prevent extremism and authoritarianism from rising again

That’s what educators should do. But the extremists attacking our public schools don’t want a generation of informed, empowered young people. They want fear, confusion, and distrust because that’s how their agenda spreads.

We can’t allow extremists to intimidate our teachers out of the classroom, so we’re stopping them where it counts: at the school board. Educated we stand is fighting to elect leaders who defend educators, protect honest education, and reject extremist pressure.
