It’s nice to meet you, John!
We’re Washington Youth Alliance, a youth-led organization driving progressive policy change in Washington State. We wanted to take the time to tell you a little bit about ourselves:
We started when the Seattle Student Union was founded on an Instagram group chat. A group of students sought to bridge the divide between the north and south ends of Seattle as COVID cases were spiking. We noticed that north end schools were being provided face masks to lower transmission, while south end schools were not, so we marched until KN95 masks were available in every corner of our city.
Since then, we’ve expanded across the state as the Washington Youth Alliance. In a short amount of time, we’ve hosted a Youth Lobby Day with over 100 students at the Capitol to advocate for common sense solutions to lower gun violence (our next Lobby Day is right around the corner!), and won $4.5 million for youth mental health initiatives. We're still just getting started — are you with us?
Will you support the work our team is doing on the ground by chipping in any amount today?
Thank you for your time— we wouldn’t do this work without support from people like you.
In solidarity,
Washington Youth Alliance
