Honoring the Lives Lost in the Attack on Pearl Harbor
Sunday, we paused to remember the more than 2,400 brave Americans who lost their lives in the attack on Pearl Harbor 84 years ago.
May we never forget their sacrifice or the Greatest Generation who answered the call to defend our nation in one of our darkest hours.
Getting Ready for the 2026 FIFA World Cup
It was an honor to speak at the U.S. Department of Transportation's World Cup Kickoff Celebration last Thursday!
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to be the largest sporting event in history, I'm grateful for Secretary Duffy’s leadership and commitment to ensuring that fans and teams can travel safely and efficiently to create the best experience possible.
The FIFA World Cup presents a generational opportunity for the US. As a member of the White House FIFA Task Force, I’ve been proud to work with the Trump Administration to provide host cities and local communities with the necessary resources for a safe, secure, and successful event next year!

Simplifying Retirement for Seniors

I was proud to join Congressman Panetta in introducing the Retirement Simplification Act, which will simplify the process and help hardworking Americans retire with confidence.

Lebanon's Path Forward
Lebanon has a once in a generation opportunity to become prosperous, sovereign, and independent. I enjoyed joining Mona Yacoubian with the Center for Strategic and International Studie in D.C. to discuss the importance of a strong U.S.-Lebanon relationship and how Lebanon can seize the moment to build a better future.

Visiting with the President of Discover Peoria
Enjoyed catching up with Discover Peoria President JD Dalfonso in D.C. to discuss his work to strengthen our local economy and improve the quality of life for residents in the Peoria Area!
I’m grateful for his friendship, leadership, and dedication to the betterment of Central Illinois!
Making Savings Options More Flexible
Americans should be able to move and consolidate their savings without facing harsh penalties.
That’s why I joined Representative Sanchez, Senator Bennet, and Senator Barrasso in reintroducing the Retirement Rollover Flexibility Act to keep more money in the hands of workers and help them build for a comfortable retirement.

One More Thing: Remembering Hal Smith
I was heartbroken to hear of the passing of Hal Smith.
Hal was an incredible man who dedicated his life to his faith, his family, and service to others. His work strengthened the Springfield community and improved the lives of countless Illinoisans. Hal’s leadership and friendship will be greatly missed.
My deepest condolences and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this time of grief.
