You may have wondered why we still send a good number of fundraising emails even though I am not up for re-election next year.

It's a fair question.

So I was hoping to take just 30 seconds of your time to explain, and hopefully at the end of that you'll consider making a contribution of your own. Because this is important.

First, when issues important to Veterans are in the news -- when matters of war and peace are in the news -- these donations help me reach more people who may be on the fence about what they're being told by Trump vs. what they are hearing from Democrats. That can be done via digital ads, social media and more. All funded by emails like this.

Also, I've hit the road already this cycle. In fact, I’ve conducted town halls in Republican states when their Republican elected members canceled their scheduled town halls to avoid facing their constituents. I plan on doing everything I can to help elect Democrats across the country. I can speak to those voters who find themselves choosing between the parties in many elections. That too takes resources.

So while I know you may not have woken up this morning and thought, "Today is the day I am going to donate to Tammy Duckworth's campaign," that is what I am asking you to do.
