As Jared’s finance director, I spend my days keeping track of funds to make sure our campaign is in a strong position to keep up the fight over the next few months.

This job is made infinitely more challenging by the fact that Maine’s 2nd District is home to one of the most competitive races in the country.

Running for Congress anywhere is hard, but when you’re constantly staring down a mountain of dark money coming from the out-of-state groups and special interest PACs who are bankrolling your opponent, it makes it that much more difficult.

Because John, the unfortunate reality is that campaigns like ours have to fundraise all the time to stay competitive.

The funds we raise from supporters like you are vital in securing a victory on Election Day -- from turning out the vote, to expanding our organizing and outreach operations, to continuing to spread Jared’s message all across the district.

Those tasks are just more expensive, and need to be carried out on a larger scale, when you’re running in a district as competitive as this one.
