Dear Health Advocates,

As part of the handshake deal to open the government, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer announced that Senate Democrats will bring a 3-year, clean extension of the enhanced premium tax credits to the Senate floor this Thursday for a vote. In the House, Democrats only need 4 Republicans to join their discharge petition to force a vote on the House floor. Now is the moment to ensure maximum pressure on Congress to get something done.

Families USA and our partners have maintained the need for a clean extension as the Senate and House have worked toward a solution that satisfies a majority of members over the last month. This week, we can continue this message in a final push — and we encourage you to engage in the following ways!

Webinar TODAY on CGM Access

While significant progress has been made at the state level to expand coverage, recent cuts to Medicaid under H.R. 1, “The One Big Beautiful Bill,” have put immense pressure on state Medicaid programs to navigate new requirements and reduced funding. These changes make it more difficult to protect the coverage gains achieved so far and to continue to encourage states to expand coverage and meet the American Diabetes Association's Standards of Care.

Please join Families USA, along with leading diabetes advocates and researchers for a timely webinar on the importance of sustaining and expanding CGM coverage nationwide. The discussion will feature:

  • Personal stories from individuals who rely on CGMs to manage their diabetes.
  • An overview of the current landscape of CGM coverage across states.
  • A panel conversation on effective advocacy strategies to help state health advocates advance access to life-saving technology.

Together, we can ensure that progress in diabetes care continues to move forward — not backward — making it safer, more effective and more equitable for everyone.
