Dear FAIR community,

We’re in the middle of our year-end fundraiser, with an ambitious but necessary goal of raising $150,000 by January 1.

FAIR could not do this work without the people and groups we are in community with. Chip Gibbons, Policy Director at Defending Rights & Dissent, recently told us about the value of FAIR to his work—and the public:


When it comes to issues of war or peace, or fundamental civil liberties, a skeptical, inquisitive press is a necessity. Yet, whether it be war abroad or surveillance at home, the corporate media is all too often willing to act as the national security state's stenographer, dutifully parroting its deadly lies. Fairness & Accuracy In Reporting (FAIR) is absolutely a necessity, exposing the propaganda and uplifting real reporting. In my decade of documenting violations of fundamental rights carried out in the name of national security, FAIR has played a crucial role in uplifting my work and getting it out to its audience. With Donald Trump building on decades of bipartisan national security policy to tar his opponents at home as 'domestic terrorists' and now carry out assassinations in the Caribbean, we can't count on the corporate media that got us into this mess to act as a watchdog, making the work of FAIR all the more vital.
