In November, DEED and our partners hosted the Minnesota pavilion at MEDICA 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, showcasing Minnesota-based companies and organizations that are at the forefront of the global medtech industry. As a part of the world’s largest medical trade fair, the Pavilion stood among more than 4,800 exhibitors, welcoming 78,000 visitors from 160 nations over four days.

A distinctive highlight of this year’s event was its overlap with the Governor’s Trade Mission to Switzerland and Germany [ [link removed] ]. On Wednesday, Governor Tim Walz hosted the Minnesota Medtech breakfast, drawing 200 attendees eager to learn more about Minnesota’s renowned Medical Alley, a hub of healthcare innovation and collaboration.

Governor Walz also toured the expansive trade show grounds, meeting with exhibitors and gaining firsthand insight into emerging technologies before visiting the Minnesota Pavilion. His presence underscored the state’s commitment to supporting medtech companies and strengthening international partnerships.

The Pavilion offered Minnesota organizations a platform to connect with global leaders, explore new markets and highlight the state’s role as a driver of medical innovation. By aligning with MEDICA’s international reach and the Governor’s trade mission, Minnesota reinforced its reputation as a premier destination for medtech growth and collaboration.
