John,
The U.S. asylum system is being dismantled by the Trump administration.
However, there was a positive development in the American Immigration Council’s case challenging [[link removed]] U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s unlawful practice [[link removed]] of preventing people from seeking protection by turning them away at the border.
A judge just tentatively ruled that this case may proceed as a class action—that means thousands of people may challenge the government’s systemic rejection of their asylum claims.
But the case isn’t over. Our legal team is preparing to make our arguments defending asylum seekers before a judge on July 30.
The Council is up against a government that is determined to take down the U.S. asylum system.
Will you help us prepare by making a gift today [[link removed]] ?

With your support of our legal action to hold the government accountable for their unlawful actions, we will rebuild America’s legacy of providing humanitarian protection.
Sincerely,
