John,

Vote by mail could be the key to making voting safe this November – but politicians are spreading misinformation about its safety and security. These lies could prevent states from making it available in November, putting American lives at risk.

We need to fight back against misinformation with the truth. Will you watch and share this short animated video that explains how vote by mail works?

Misinformation is even being shared by the President. He recently tweeted “mail-in ballot fraud found in many elections.”1 Let’s be clear: Mail-in ballots are secure.

Oregon, for example, has sent more than 100 million mail-in ballots since 2000, with only a dozen cases of fraud. That's 0.0000001% of all votes cast. As one expert put it, “It is still more likely for an American to be struck by lightning than to commit mail voting fraud.”2

Vote by mail has been used in American elections for decades. 25% of voters vote by mail each election, including our military personnel serving overseas. Republican Governors and Secretaries of State support it, and even President Trump voted by mail3 this year!

Facts are our best tool to combat misinformation and this short animated video will help people understand that vote by mail is a safe and secure way to vote this November. Watch and share the video now to make sure your friends and family have the facts.

This is not a partisan issue. Together, we can fight back against the spread of misinformation, and make sure every American knows the facts about their voting options.

Thank you,

Jen
