As an educator, I see firsthand how children experience the changes in our climate—and how much they care. In my classroom, elementary schoolers learn through the Wabanaki curriculum about the health of our waters, the impacts of pollution, and the importance of reciprocal relationships with nature. These kids aren’t just reading about climate change—they see it, they care about it, and they understand that they have a role in changing the trajectory we are on. That passion is why I moved from organizing to education. The thing that I love about both is helping people realize their own power and their own ability to advocate and create the better world that they want to see.
I worked at MCV from 2015 to 2017. Even then, MCV was at the forefront of protecting clean air and water and ensuring a fair democracy that works for all. What excites me now is seeing the organization expand its focus—supporting tribal sovereignty, equitable democracy, and community resilience.
I hope you’ll join me in supporting this critical work. Your gift today will help MCV protect Maine for future generations and empower all of us to take action—protecting our communities, our democracy, and the environment we love. And from now until December 31st, your gift to MCV will be triple matched—up to $15,000! That means your year-end gift today goes three times further to protect the environment in Maine and our democracy. When you become a monthly donor, your commitment will have 12x the impact, helping sustain this work all year long.
Thank you for believing in the power of people—especially young people—to lead us toward a brighter future. Warmly,
