John, we get it. Choosing to support your top candidate in a crowded field relies a lot on how much you know about them.
That’s why we’re sharing some key facts to get to know Sara.
- Sara’s a former ER nurse and CDC officer → Sara worked night shifts in the ER when the opioid crisis was spiking. As a public health expert at the CDC’s Epidemic Intelligence Service, she investigated outbreaks across the globe. At Wisconsin’s largest health system, Sara served in senior leadership and led a Fortune 100 company as a vice president.
- In the 2020 election, she flipped a red seat blue → She saw politicians ignoring struggling Wisconsin families, so she took action. She defeated a four-term Republican incumbent to serve in the State Assembly. She went on to run for Lt. Governor and won, making her the 2nd-highest ranking elected official in WI.
- She’s visited all 72 counties, three times → From kitchen tables to factory floors, she deeply understands the needs of families across all of Wisconsin’s 72 counties, including veterans fighting for the benefits they earned, dairy farmers worried about staying afloat, small business owners sidelined by culture war politics, and parents navigating unaffordable child care.
- Sara met her husband salsa dancing → Sara met her husband, a first-generation immigrant from Mexico, salsa dancing. They live in Waukesha County with their two children, one in high school and one in college at UW. She’s a Girl Scout troop leader, a former Peace Corps volunteer, and a Wisconsinite who knows that government should serve the people.
- As Wisconsin’s next Governor, she’ll fight for you → Sara knows Wisconsin can be a place where no family has to choose between going to the doctor, paying rent, and buying groceries. She says it all the time: healthcare is a right, educators deserve respect and fair pay, women should control their bodies and futures, small businesses should have the chance to thrive, and no matter your ZIP code, every Wisconsinite deserves a shot at a good life.
John, Sara knows she needs to earn every voter’s trust and vote. And that starts by getting to know her and why she’s in this race. We hope this was insightful and you’re on board with us to keep Wisconsin moving forward.
If we’ve convinced you to join in, will you let us know with a contribution?
