Trump's new rule directs federal agencies to ignore climate change effects and limit public input when approving highways, pipelines, and other infrastructure proposals.

It is set to be one of the most damaging and far-reaching environmental decisions of this presidency.

We have one shot left to stop it. Our last shot is for Congress to block implementation of Trump's rule — but for that, we need to do everything we possibly can to mount an unprecedented pressure campaign — NOW.

  This rollback isn't just dangerous for the environment — it is also a racist attack on public health. NEPA also allows local communities most likely to be affected by the pollution caused by environmentally hazardous projects — communities that are disproportionately Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and low-wealth — to oppose them. Due to systemic racism and injustice, those communities face higher rates of health issues like asthma due to poor air quality — and they are now seeing far higher death rates from COVID-19. Gutting NEPA will block out their voices and deny them the right to advocate for their own safety and seek justice.

We must do everything we can to block this rule — and we are quickly running out of time. If 10,000 LCV members make a donation before the end of the month, we will unlock a $500,000 grant.
