Governor Shapiro made this promise when he signed a budget that officially blocked Pennsylvania from joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI): “I’m going to be aggressive about pushing for policies that create more jobs in the energy sector, bring more clean energy onto the grid, and reduce the cost of energy for Pennsylvanians.” [1]
Now that we lost the chance to use the strongest tool out there to help folks pay their energy bills, cut pollution, and fight climate change, we need action – ASAP.
State Senate Republicans have said “no” to every serious clean-energy plan on the table and have offered zero real solutions of their own. The only way we’ll get real progress is if Governor Shapiro makes this issue his top priority and pushes legislators in Harrisburg to act.
That’s why your voice matters. When enough of us speak up, we can show the Governor that we expect him to follow through. Add your name to our petition demanding Governor Shapiro to keep his promise to lower costs and bring more clean energy to PA. [[link removed]]
Winter is here, and thousands of families are struggling with rising energy bills. Many will have to choose between keeping their homes warm and paying for groceries or medicine.
The Governor and state lawmakers have already put forward plans that would lower costs and reduce pollution by bringing more clean energy onto our grid. But Senate Republicans are blocking them at every turn.
If we’re going to get people the relief they need, Governor Shapiro needs to use the full weight of his administration to get it done.
Help us remind him of his commitment. Sign the petition today and tell Governor Shapiro that Pennsylvanians are counting on him to deliver lower energy costs and a cleaner future. [[link removed]]
Thanks for all you’ve done in this fight for our future.
