Last week I was horrified by the attacks Trump slung at the Somali-American community and my friend and colleague, Ilhan Omar.

As Trump faces crisis after crisis of his own making and sinking approval ratings, he found his usual scapegoats–an immigrant community and a woman of color courageous enough to stand up to him.

It also felt all too familiar to me. Because at the same time Ilhan was on the receiving end of Trump’s harassment, I was getting targeted over and over by a GOP member who was outraged by my demands of accountability from the unhinged and rogue agency that is DHS and ICE.

Stand with me and Ilhan as we take on these extremist Republicans. ([link removed])

The truth is that the GOP is deeply out of touch with the American people.

The only response they have is to rely on racist, xenophobic attacks to try and further divide our country as they continue to rob from working people to enrich themselves and their billionaire bosses.

We won’t let them.

We will continue to organize, to stand together, to talk to our neighbors, to spread our message day in and day out until the movement to defeat Donald Trump and the far-right is completely unstoppable.
