As 2025 draws to a close, we pause to say thank you. Because of your support, Michigan’s children are safer, families are stronger and communities are more connected. Whether you donated, volunteered or simply shared our mission, you made a real difference.

Children Trust Michigan remains the only statewide organization solely dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and neglect. This year, thanks to supporters like you, we were able to empower our network of Prevention Partners across the state so that:

• Over 114,000 families received vital support through the prevention network.
• More than 60,000 parents participated in critical education programs.
• Over 9,000 referrals were provided to families through the Family Resource centers.
• 131 adults served through fatherhood programs.

These figures aren’t fodder for dusty ledgers. Each tells a deeply human story, with impacts that last a lifetime.

Take the case of a single father from Grand Rapids who found himself struggling following the birth of his first child. After attending parenting education classes hosted by our Prevention Partner Arbor Circle, he found himself newly confident and invigorated, ready to navigate the trials of parenthood without succumbing to negative emotion. “It helped me personally with diffusing my anger or frustration with a difficult circumstance,” he said.

Not only is this father better prepared to care for his own child — he is eager to share what he has learned with other fathers. This pay-it-forward attitude is what makes prevention programming so powerful. The hope it inspires radiates outward, uplifting children and families at an exponential rate.

• $25 provides 10 families with abusive head trauma prevention materials at $2.50 per child (Period of PURPLE Crying booklet).
• $50 furnishes "There Will Be Tears" materials for 40 families with 0-3 years olds.
• $75 covers a Welcome Baby Bag for a family with a newborn.
• $150 pays for 10 sleep sacks for new infants to keep them warm and safe.
• $500 reaches up to 200 families/caregivers, providing them with child development education and support.
• $5,000 funds Child Sexual Abuse Prevention training sessions for our local Prevention Partners.
• $250,000 provides support for a new Family Resource Center, covering start up for the first year.
