| What is happening with the Clean Water Act?: |
| For decades, the Clean Water Act has been the most important tool we have to ensure our lakes, rivers, and streams are clean and safe, yet developers and other polluting industries have wanted to scale it back. Now, the Trump administration is lining up to do the bidding of corporate polluters by trying to scale back this critical law. |
| Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers proposed a rule that would end federal protections for many wetlands and streams in the U.S., imperiling critical habitats and the clean drinking water of millions of Americans. |
| What can we do?: |
| We are in the middle of a 45-day comment period on the proposed rule, and we still need your voice, Friend. Your comment will help us in the courtroom. If Trump’s EPA finalizes this proposed rule, the record of public comments helps provide Earthjustice with a basis for bringing them into court. |
