FIFA (the governing body for international soccer) just invented a made-up “peace prize” to flatter Donald Trump. In an act both fallacious and fellatious at the same time, FIFA presented the award to Trump onstage, with much fanfare, as if this were a real thing. (I guess they figured they already had plenty of knee pads handy.) Take action, and demand FIFA withdraw this ridiculous prize. This award didn’t exist until FIFA President Gianni Infantino made it up out of the blue, claiming Trump had somehow advanced “peace” through the 2026 World Cup. (which, like Trump’s work for peace, hasn’t actually happened yet). It’s frankly crazy that FIFA would give a peace prize to a guy who likes to bomb new countries because he’s angry he can’t spell them, cheers on war crimes, and who has destructively stupid-walked his way through actual peace negotiations, treaties, and conventions like Godzilla going through Tokyo. It’s also incredibly dangerous. Soccer is wildly popular in nearly every country on Earth, with billions of fans. And this essentially gives a seal of approval from the sport to Trump, something he can leverage for support of even stupider global efforts. Take action, and demand FIFA withdraw this ridiculous prize. |
