Dear John,
Chinsinsi Banda discovered she was pregnant immediately after taking her final primary school exams. She was shocked, as she says she had sex only once.
Chinsinsi represents millions of girls in Malawi, where 29% of teenagers become pregnant. Many end up getting married and dropping out of school.
You can see where Chinsinsi is today in this beautiful visual story.
Our teams are working across Africa, Asia and the Americas to fight the injustices of child marriage, teenage pregnancy and school dropout. When laws and systems don’t protect girls from these threats, that’s a form of gender-based violence—and it needs to stop.
That’s why we train health providers in youth-friendly care, push for laws that protect girls’ reproductive rights, and partner with community groups to help girls stay in school.
When you support Ipas, you give girls like Chinsinsi the information, rights and health care to control their own bodies and futures. Together, we are building a more just world.
Sincerely,
Your friends at Ipas
PS: There's no better time to give to Ipas than right now. All gifts made before Dec. 15 will be matched dollar for dollar. Donate today and double your impact for women and girls around the world!
