Updates from D.C.

TX Redistricting Update

The Supreme Court issued its decision last Thursday regarding which maps Texas will use in the 2026 elections. Once again, Trump’s yes-men bowed to his wishes. The Court pressed pause, allowing these maps to be used for the 2026 election cycle while the case continues. This fight is far from over, and when Texans have their say, the results will speak for themselves.

The Real Threat to America Isn’t Immigrants — It’s Hate

Trump and MAGA Republicans have fabricated a lie to distract the American people and frame immigrants as the problem. Let me be clear: you can’t claim to be Christian while also dehumanizing folks, especially children.

For a country that calls itself the home of the free and the land of the brave, we are looking more and more like the home of the oppressed and the land of cruelty. We all deserve better..

This Isn't About Right or Left, It Is About Right and Wrong.

ICE raids are tearing families apart, creating fear, and disrupting our communities. Our families, friends, and neighbors did not ask for this. Our undocumented neighbors deserve a clear path to citizenship. Not this wannabe tyrant. This is not a game. People are dying because of this administration's actions.

As the Vice Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, I want the immigrant community to know: You can trust that I will continue to fight for your rights and hold this administration accountable because you deserve to live.
