Family, I wanted you to hear this from me: I’m officially launching my campaign to represent Kentucky in the U.S. Senate.
The era of Mitch McConnell is over. Kentucky has the opportunity to turn a new page. We no longer have to accept that this is just the way things are. We can dream big.
I’m running because the Democratic Party cannot be the party of politicians bought by corporate interests who refuse to make any meaningful change.
The future is ours. Imagine how much better life would be with:
- Medicare for All and universal child care so that getting by isn’t so damn hard.
- Housing you can live in and afford, without being crushed by utility bills.
- A fresh deal for working people: A minimum wage of $40,000 a year for everyone who puts in a 40-hour work week — a guarantee to live a life with dignity.
If you believe that this is the type of campaign Democrats should be running, and if you’re able, will you split a donation between our campaign and Blue Amp Action to help launch this campaign with the strongest momentum possible? Every dollar will send a powerful message about our movement’s strength.
You may be thinking: Could a campaign like ours really win in Kentucky? My answer is 100%, without a doubt, yes.
Trump is instilling fear to divide us so we don’t notice we’re being robbed by greedy politicians and corporations. But guess what? We’ve noticed.
Voters across the country sent a loud message on Election Day this year that cannot be ignored: They want leaders who aren’t afraid to put up a fight and will actually try to make life more affordable.
We not only have what it takes to become the Democratic nominee. We have what it takes to build a strong movement across the Commonwealth — uniting Kentuckians across race, religion, and class — in order to demand better from our government and send a true fighter for us to the Senate.
Through faith, I know something greater is possible for us — even when we’re told it’s not. I need you to keep believing that something greater is possible, too.
The movement in Kentucky — and across the country — is alive. As a born-and-raised Kentuckian, it would be an honor to represent the movement in the Senate. Will you split a donation between our campaign and Blue Amp Action today to power our fight?
In solidarity,
Charles |
