Friends and neighbors,

Two important developments so far this week that I wanted you to be aware of.

First: There are new developments in Minnesota’s escalating fraud scandals. There have been recent stories in the New York Times and in City Journal. In addition, more than 450 anonymous employees of the state’s Department of Human Services used their X account to explain that they warned Gov. Walz about fraud, but instead of taking action, they were retaliated against.

You can watch my video on this topic here: https://youtu.be/VhpKyOfU9kU

Second: Minnesota’s new paid leave law will take effect on January 1. It is entirely possible this program will begin with chaos on the same level of MNsure and MNLARS, but even if the rollout goes smoothly, the program itself could become a disaster for hundreds of small businesses.

I have been getting a lot of calls from business owners about the impact of these laws and what has them concerned. I shared a couple of these stories in another recent video:

Later this week we will receive the annual November revenue forecast from the state’s budget department. I’ll follow up with another email update once we know what it says.

In the meantime, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you for staying involved.

God Bless,

Glenn Gruenhagen
