Dear Friend,

Every year, kind people like you support ongoing work for peace and justice. Whether you donate, sign petitions, or attend events, you give us hope for a future characterized by peace, justice, and love. Thank you!

As 2025 draws to a close, I want to share some ways of giving that may have tax benefits for you—while also bringing much-needed resources to AFSC’s work for peace and justice.

Donor Advised Funds

If you have a donor advised fund, now is the perfect time for you to give. A donor advised fund gives you the freedom to recommend gifts to American Friends Service Committee and other charities. You establish an account at an outside tax-exempt sponsoring organization like a public foundation by transferring cash or other assets. You qualify for a charitable deduction when you contribute to the account. Then you can recommend how much (and how often) you want to distribute money from that fund to AFSC or other charities.  Learn more and download your free guide. IRA Charitable Rollover

If you are 70½ years old or older, you can take advantage of a simple way to benefit AFSC and receive tax benefits in return. You can give up to $108,000 from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as ours without having to pay income taxes on the money, and your IRA gift will count towards your required minimum distribution. This popular giving option is great if you don’t itemize your taxes. See our frequently asked questions page for more information. [link removed]

Stock Gifts

Making a gift of appreciated securities (or “stock gifts”) may have tax benefits for you while supporting AFSC’s mission. When you transfer appreciated securities or mutual funds you have held for more than one year, you avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciated value. You are also eligible for a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the gift. Visit our site to learn more. [link removed]

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage donations. Search here to see if your employer participates. [link removed]

There are so many ways to support AFSC while receiving important benefits for yourself. Thank you for your ongoing partnership. We could not do this work without the generosity of people like you!

With gratitude,
