But we all know President Trump hasn't 'delivered' on any of the promises made to the families devastated by gun violence during his time in office.

Parkland, Poway, El Paso, Dayton, Gilroy — each of these tragedies happened amid Trump's lethal inaction on gun reform.

Every time a mass shooting makes national headlines, we know the routine. President Trump is quick to offer “thoughts and prayers.” He might even entertain the idea of strengthening our gun laws, but he then backtracks after long talks with the NRA. After all, don't forget: the NRA paid for Trump’s presidency, spending $30 million to elect him to the White House in 2016.

We shouldn't have to say this, but the President of the United States shouldn't have the NRA's Wayne LaPierre on speed dial for advice!

We're saying enough. We deserve a leader in the White House who will protect the American people — rather than protect their financial interest with the NRA. Brady President Kris Brown & Chairman Adam Schiff Discuss Gun Violence Prevention

Brady President Kris Brown and Rep. Adam Schiff ( D-CA) , Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, discussed Schiff’s leadership to prevent gun violence in the 116th Congress. As Chairman of the Intelligence Committee, Rep. Schiff was in charge of investigating the relationship between the NRA and the Russian government and how that relationship benefited President Trump in the 2016 election. We heard more about the evidence his committee found, highlighting Russian influence over the NRA and Russia's goal to sow discord on social media by using the debate over guns.

Brady Donor of the Week: Gary Holland

Gary grew up in Long Beach and started supporting Brady three decades ago as a concerned citizen. Now, as a faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at UCLA and director of the Ocular Inflammatory Disease Center at the UCLA Stein Eye Institute, Gary is specifically concerned about gun violence as a public health issue. Among the long-term consequences of gun violence are eye injuries leading to blindness among some survivors.

He is inspired by the increasing interest among young people, including medical students, in the issue of gun violence prevention. For example, a group of UCLA medical students are creating a teaching module on how to counsel patients about gun safety for inclusion in the medical school curriculum. Gary and his colleagues have also started a research study into eye injuries among survivors of gun violence, who are seen in the Emergency Department at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, with its urban Level-1 trauma center. Another Deadly Virus Continues to Ravage America: Gun Violence [[link removed]] , NorthJersey.com

[[link removed]] Loren Lieb , co-leader of the Brady San Fernando Valley (CA) chapter, has been active in the movement to prevent gun violence since the late 1990s. In 1999, a white supremacist opened fire on a California Jewish Community Center (JCC) where Loren’s son, Josh, was in attendance. The gunman shot and killed 11 people and injured six more, including Josh. It was one of the deadliest attacks on the Jewish community in U.S. history. Since then, Loren, alongside Million Mom March organizer Donna Finkelstein , whose daughter was also in the JCC shooting, has rallied and testified numerous times in support of gun safety and stronger gun laws in California.

Most recently, Loren spoke about safe gun storage and ending family fire with Rep. Katie Porter (CA-45) in a virtual event, continuing to bring attention to the fact that 4.6 million children live in homes with access to an unlocked or unsupervised gun.
