Dear Friends,

I hope you and your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. As we move into the Christmas season—a time when we reflect on God’s blessings and look for ways to bless others—I want to share an opportunity that’s almost too good to be true.

What if you could give a Georgia student access to a better education without actually giving any more money—just by redirecting tax dollars you already owe?

That’s exactly what the Georgia GOAL Scholarship Program allows you to do. It costs you nothing extra, just a few minutes of paperwork, but it can radically alter a child’s future.

As a passionate supporter of school choice, I’m volunteering through our children’s school, Lanier Christian Academy, to help spread the word about this amazing opportunity that expires December 31. Through GOAL, you can simply redirect a portion of your Georgia state income taxes to help families who want options in their children’s education—especially private and Christian schools.

The best part? Participating in this cause does not require you to make an additional donation. You’re just redirecting taxes you’re going to pay anyway. Chelsey and I have been doing this for years. In fact, during my time as a Georgia legislator, I was honored to help expand this very program.

Through the GOAL Student Scholarship Organization, you can direct a portion of your upcoming Georgia tax liability to a private school instead of the state’s general fund. In turn, 100% of those redirected funds go to need-based scholarships for Georgia students. You then receive a dollar-for-dollar state tax credit for the amount you redirect.

Here’s how much you can redirect:
* Single filers: up to $2,500
* Married filing jointly: up to $5,000
* Businesses: up to 75% of their Georgia income tax liability (with the added benefit of a federal charitable deduction, just like giving to a church or nonprofit)

It really is a minor inconvenience that can make a major difference.

** Key Dates

1. Deadline to Apply:
Submit your GOAL application by December 31 at midnight.
2. Notification of Approved Amount:
By around January 10, the Georgia Department of Revenue will let you know how much of your requested amount is approved. Typically, it's about half of the amount you asked for.
3. Deadline to Fund Your Credit:
You’ll then have until March 11 to make your payment to GOAL (which simply redirects your tax dollars).

📝 Important: This affects your upcoming Georgia income tax—you’re not adding to what you owe; you’re choosing where some of it goes.

If you don’t have a particular private school you’d like to support, I’d be incredibly grateful if you’d consider choosing Lanier Christian Academy from the drop-down menu when you apply.

And don’t worry—
* If you sign up and later change your mind, that’s okay.
* If you’re approved for a larger amount but decide to redirect less, that’s okay too.
