Good afternoon, and welcome to our
Weekend Update.
SPECIAL ALERT: President
Donald J. Trump is coming back to Northeast Pennsylvania on Tuesday,
December 9. President Trump has been a strong friend to our region,
and I’m looking forward to welcoming him back to our area next week.
Below is the official registration link to join this event at Mount
Pocono.
All who are interested in attending must
register in advance using the link below. After signing up, attendees
will receive additional guidance directly from the White House.
I joined "Newsline" on Newsmax
earlier today to discuss how President Trump, together with House
Republicans, is unleashing American energy and delivering real
affordability for Pennsylvania families. When America produces more of
its own clean, reliable energy, costs come down across the economy,
from manufacturing and transportation to everyday goods.
We also discussed how the country is
working to recover from the Biden Administration's failed economic
policies. In Washington, we remain focused on strengthening growth,
lowering energy costs, and putting more money back in the pockets of
the American people. Click
here or below to watch my interview.

This week, I joined the "National Report"
on Newsmax to discuss how Minnesota has been so badly
mismanaged under Governor Tim Walz that more than $300 million meant
to feed low-income children was funneled through the Feeding Our
Future nonprofit — with some of it even funneled to terrorist groups
in Somalia, according to the DOJ.
On a brighter note, I shared some good
news from Washington: the House passed my bipartisan Investing in All
of America Act, which expands access to capital for small businesses
and supports the comeback of American manufacturing under President
Trump.

Thank you to everyone who joined
tonight’s telephone town hall on financial fraud and scams. Nearly
12,000 people from across the 9th District tuned in, many sharing
firsthand experiences that show just how serious and widespread this
problem has become.
I’m also grateful to Attorney General
Dave Sunday and Troy Peters, President and CEO of Jonestown Bank and
Trust, for offering their expertise and practical advice on how to
fight back against these scammers.
If you missed the event, you can find key
information, important phone numbers, and helpful guidance on my
scam-prevention page at meuser.house.gov/scams.

Recently, my interview on "The Volpe
Report" aired on Fox56. If you missed it, you can watch it
below. We discussed the House-passed CR that brought an end to the 43-day
Democrat-forced government shutdown, which was all pain, no gain for
the American people.
We also covered what comes next as House Republicans and the
Trump administration continue to work on making life more affordable
and moving forward with meaningful healthcare reforms, so patients can
access the reliable, affordable care they need and deserve.

IN NEWS YOU WON’T HEAR IN THE
MAINSTREAM MEDIA: Walz looked away while Somali fraudsters
looted $1 billion in child food aid.
Tim Walz watched as more than $1
billion meant to feed Minnesota children was siphoned off in one
of the largest fraud schemes in national history — and he
did nothing to stop it. Click
here to watch.

The fraud was carried out through a
network of nonprofits, many operating within the Somali community,
that claimed they were:
-
Feeding tens
of thousands of hungry children
-
Providing services
to the homeless
-
Providing therapy
for autistic Somali children
Instead, the money went to kickbacks, luxury
purchases, overseas transfers
— and to individuals allegedly tied to
a terror
organization.
Walz and Minnesota
Democrats were warned. They knew the system was being abused. And
they allowed it
to continue because they feared political backlash more
than they cared about protecting Minnesota children from losing
critical resources.
The Trump Administration is working
overtime to continue the important efforts to uncover waste, fraud,
and abuse. Click
here to watch a recent video released by Dr. Mehmet Oz,
administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, and
Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins discussing rampant fraud in
Medicaid and SNAP benefits.

Ahead of the 2026 midterms, Democrats are
dangerously clinging to the idea that putting illegals over the
American people is somehow a "winning" strategy, but they are causing
real families real pain.
Democrat-led cities are refusing to prosecute crime, and Main
Street America is paying the price. When criminals face no real
consequences, theft surges, small businesses are hit repeatedly,
prices rise, and doors eventually close.
Meanwhile, Republicans are delivering real results for small
businesses—199A, bonus depreciation, R&D expensing, no tax on
tips, lower income taxes, and lower energy costs. But even with these
wins for small businesses, they’re still at risk when lawlessness goes
unchecked.
We must protect our small businesses, restore accountability, and
Make Main Street Safe Again.
Click

Committee on Small Business.
This week, H.R. 2066, the Investing in All of
America Act of 2025, which I introduced with Rep. Hillary Scholten,
passed the House.
This bipartisan legislation strengthens small
businesses, fuels domestic manufacturing, and supports rural and
underserved communities across Northeast Pennsylvania and the country.
I’m pleased by the bipartisan support in the House and encourage my
colleagues in the Senate to advance it so it can reach President
Trump’s desk and be signed into law. Click
here or below to watch my remarks.

At a recent Financial Services Committee
Republicans hearing, I emphasized that under Joe Biden, cumulative
inflation rose nearly 20%, driving up prices on everything from
building materials to household essentials.
By contrast, over the last 10 months,
inflation has increased just 2.4%, a far more stable environment for
families looking to buy or build a home.
Housing is nearly 20% of our economy and
a key driver of quality of life. Streamlining permitting, cutting red
tape, and incentivizing private-sector investment will help deliver
affordable starter homes for families across America. I’ll keep
pressing for policies that bring prices down and make the American
Dream attainable again. Click

Earlier on Friday, I held a constituent
forum in Pottsville. I spent more than 90 minutes taking many
questions from constituents on both sides of the aisle on a wide range
of issues.
Thank you to Alvernia University for
hosting us. The Pottsville CollegeTowne campus, opened in 2023, is an
important community asset, and I appreciate Thomas Minick and the
university team for their support in making this forum possible.
This week, I held two constituent appreciation Christmas events
across the district in Pottsville and Dallas. It was great to see
familiar faces, meet new ones, and reflect on the wins of the past
year and our first year back under President Trump’s leadership.
Looking ahead to next year, I remain committed to delivering for
the people of Pennsylvania’s Ninth District and building on this
year’s momentum.
Wishing you and your families a Merry Christmas and a happy holiday
season!
On
Thursday evening, Team Meuser held its first of two annual Christmas
parties in Pottsville. We had two great evenings, and many great
friends, including our GOP gubernatorial candidate, State Treasurer
Stacy Garrity, joined Shelley and me.

On
Friday evening, Team Meuser held our annual Christmas Party at The
Beaumont in Harveys Lake.

December 7, 1941 – A Date That Lives in
Infamy
Today, on the 84th anniversary of the attack on Pearl
Harbor, we pause to honor the thousands of brave men and women whose
lives were forever changed on that tragic Sunday morning. We remember
the 2,403 Americans who were killed, the many who were wounded, and
the families whose hearts were forever marked by sacrifice.
Pearl Harbor awakened a nation to stand in defense of
freedom. It forged the courage, unity, and resolve that defined the
Greatest Generation and secured liberty for generations to
come.
We
remember.
We
honor.
We
will never forget.
May
we always live worthy of their sacrifice by defending freedom, serving
our communities, and teaching future generations the true cost of
liberty. 🇺🇸
I want to pass along this graphic that our good
friend from Berks County, Barry Schlouch, forwarded to me.

We
want to extend our congratulations to the Southern Columbia Tiger
football team for securing their 15th PiAA state championship. That
was also the 522nd win for Coach Jim Roth, the most wins
of any coach in the state. Congratulations!

Finally, we again wish our Pennsylvania hunters
continued luck for a good harvest this year. My son, Danny, already
shot this nice 10-pointer. I have not put in the time, so I have not
gotten my buck yet. I am hoping to get out this afternoon.

May God continue to bless our nation. I look
forward to seeing you soon,
