Good News: A federal judge just affirmed today that the Trump administration must begin accepting new applications for the DACA program — the policy allowing Dreamers to live and work in our communities without fearing deportation.  

 

Bad News: This fight may not be over. President Trump continues to say he may “refile” his plan to end DACA, threatening deportation for nurses, doctors, and other essential workers.

Today’s critical ruling affirms that DACA stands, and now its doors are open for new Dreamers to apply, nearly a month after Xavier secured victory at the Supreme Court. 

 

But after threats that he will “refile” his plan to end these deportation protections, we can’t act as if President Trump will give up.
