John,
Over the past weeks, devastating stories have shaken the country: Black
mothers denied basic medical care, forced to give birth roadside; a mother
who didn’t survive; an infant who suffered brain death after being turned
away.
These tragedies are not isolated incidents. They are symptoms of a system

That’s why [ [link removed] ]Women’s March is gathering with Khiara M. Bridges and Tamika
Middleton to host an Emergency Call on Black Maternal Care this Thursday,
December 11 at 8 pm ET.

We’re coming together—organizers, legal experts, and advocates—to confront
what’s happening, why it’s happening, and what must be done right now.
We’ll discuss:
* The rampant negligence leading to preventable harm and death
* The work organizers on the ground are doing to fight for justice and
safety
* The newly introduced WELLS Act and what it means for accountability
and access
* Concrete steps you can take to push this forward

This moment demands collective action, not silence.
In solidarity,
Women’s March
