Last Monday I had the opportunity to participate in a current politics panel on CNN’s “The Story Is…” program, which shows nationally and internationally. I was invited to participate by the host Elex Michaelson, who has been reporting on California politics on television for many years. Before coming over to CNN he was a staple over at Fox News 11 in Los Angeles.
I was the “right” side of the discussion, appearing opposite lefty YouTuber Brian Tyler Cohen [ [link removed] ] (who is somewhat of a phonom with progressives, with like 5 million subscribers).
Born On This Date in 1903 — Clarence Nash - the Voice of Donald Duck!
Today we tip our hat to Clarence “Ducky” Nash, the man behind one of the most recognizable voices in entertainment history — Donald Duck. Born in 1904, Nash didn’t just voice a cartoon character; he created a sound that became part of American culture. That unforgettable raspy quack debuted in 1934 and quickly turned Donald into one of Disney’s most enduring icons.
For nearly five decades, Nash was the official voice of Donald Duck, along with related characters like Daisy’s nephews and other members of Duckburg. His talent wasn’t just vocal trickery — it was personality, timing, and heart, all delivered through a most unlikely instrument.
Even after retiring, his legacy lived on through generations of fans who grew up laughing at Donald’s temper, loyalty, and charm. When Clarence Nash passed away in 1985, he left behind far more than a filmography — he left a voice that still echoes nearly a century later.
Watching this great fun video starring both Mr. Duck and Mr. Nash is a great way to get some smiles, and remember Nash on his birthday!
