John,

I’ve often been asked what motivates me to keep being an advocate for our district, even in the face of fierce opposition and a whole system built up against the people.

The answer is rooted in a simple lesson I learned growing up on a farm: resilience isn't just a word; it’s a way of living and an insistence on never giving up on the things you believe in the most. That's the determination I bring to this campaign, and it’s what I see every day in my neighbors here in Northern California.

Let me explain why that determination matters in this moment.

I’ve spent my career as an educator and advocate, and I’ve seen firsthand how hard we all work just to get by – pay our rents or mortgages, pay our bills, buy groceries, take care of our homes, families, and health, and maybe even have a little left over to save for the future.

When neighbors are facing crushing healthcare costs, rising insurance rates, and housing instability, it's clear: Our democracy and freedoms are on the line, and the system is rigged to prioritize corporate greed over people.

Northern California deserves better than politics as usual and the same old politicians who got us into this mess in the first place. We deserve leaders who lead with integrity, who are committed to service above party or personal interest.

That's why I refuse corporate PAC money. That’s why I chose to run even without billionaires backing me or entrenched, consolidated political power. That’s why I’m fighting for our community.

Donating is one of the most important things you can do for this campaign, but I realize it’s a hard time right now for so many of us. If you can, please consider donating today. But if you can’t, don’t worry, there are tons of ways to get involved. [[link removed]]

This isn't just about one seat. It's about proving that hope belongs here and that every community, no matter how rural or remote, matters. Let's finish strong together.

With grit and gratitude,
Audrey
