John, I’m sounding the alarm.

Trump wants to bring offshore drilling back to California’s coast for the first time in decades. His new five-year plan would reopen our waters to dangerous drilling, putting our coastal communities at risk of toxic spills that devastate local economies, threaten human health, and destroy critical marine habitat.

Let me be clear: our communities do not want drill rigs off our beaches. This is one of the rare issues where Democrats, Republicans, and Independents in my district overwhelmingly agree. California cannot afford another preventable disaster off our coast.

We’ve lived through the consequences. Just a few years ago, 25,000 gallons of crude oil spewed from a pipeline leak in Orange County, contaminating a 25-acre ecological reserve and putting families at risk of inhaling toxic oil vapors. The economic and environmental damage was huge.

And now Trump wants to invite more drilling. And for what? To please oil companies who stand to profit while our coastline bears all the risk.

Absolutely not.

I’ve introduced legislation to permanently ban offshore drilling along the coast of Southern California. I’m fighting Trump’s reckless plan with everything I’ve got. But to send a message that cannot be ignored, I need supporters like you to speak out with me.

Will you add your name and tell the Trump Administration that California says NO to offshore drilling?
