Being a single mom running for governor can be difficult. I have to juggle
priorities every day that many other candidates never have to think about.

But I do it because I believe California needs a fighter for working
families in Sacramento—not a corporate sell out. I’ll tell you more, but

While one of my kids is in college, my two younger ones are in middle and
high school. That means the everyday realities of parenting are baked into
my campaign schedule.

Between campaign strategy meetings and visiting with voters, I’m making
runs to the grocery store, helping with homework, or rushing out to buy
school supplies.

While other candidates can spend extra time calling their big dollar
donors, I’m doing what so many other California parents do—cook dinner,
keep the household running, and ensure my kids (and our pets) get the
quality time they need.

I’m running for governor because I understand the challenges Californians
are struggling with. I face many of them too—stretched budgets, rising
costs, unaffordable health care, or unforeseen repairs on my old minivan.
But to win and be the fighter working class Californians need, I need your
support.
