It’s Been Quite a Week!
Big Redistricting Win for Texas
The U.S. Supreme Court made the right decision on the 2025 Texas congressional redistricting map. I knew all along we did the right thing, the right way. We simply wanted more Republicans representing Texas in Congress.
We must keep the House in Washington in 2026 and maintain our Republican majority. Otherwise, the Democrats will block all of President Trump’s agenda during his final two years in office.
We will now send five new Republicans to Congress. It was a big victory. The Texas Senate and I were proud to play a key role in this historic moment.
Men Do Not Belong in Women’s Bathrooms or Other Private Spaces
Men do not belong in women’s bathrooms or other private spaces. No excuses and no whining about it!
In 2017, I was the first elected official in the country to prioritize the passage of a Women’s Privacy Act (the “Bathroom Bill” as some called it then) to protect women and young girls from men entering women’s bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers. At the time, I took tremendous heat from the corporate world, the NCAA, and many others. Sen. Lois Kolkhorst, R-Brenham, did a masterful job passing the bill through the Senate, but sadly, the bill died in the Texas House.
I kept fighting, vowing to never bend the knee to the woke rage mob, because I knew this was the right policy for Texas.
This past special session in September, the Women’s Privacy Act finally passed both the Texas Senate and House and was signed into law. As of today, the Women’s Privacy Act is finally in effect in Texas, protecting women and girls across our state!
The “New Little Texan Savings Fund”
I love President Trump’s idea to invest $1,000 for every American newborn child, that cannot be spent until age 18 and must be used for education or other qualifying expenses. President Trump’s plan also allows family members to contribute more to his new baby savings program. I applaud Texans Michael Dell and Susan Dell for giving President Trump $6.25 billion to help fund the program.
If I see a great idea from the President that helps Texans, my first question is always, “why not do it in Texas, too?”
A baby is born about every 90 seconds in Texas. That’s about 1,000 per day, or just under 400,000 per year for the last several years.
One of my top priorities in the 2027 legislative session will be to pass the “New Little Texan Savings Fund” to give newborn Texans an additional $1,000 each, invested in the S&P 500, as aligned with the federal program.
Adding that to the President’s program, newborn Texans will receive a total of $2,000, plus any additional funds contributed by their family as allowed under the Trump plan.
This new initiative will cost our budget about $400 million per year. That is about 1% or less of our total state appropriations. We will amend the state constitution to add this as a permanent program. This is a great way to return money back to families and to teach the value of savings and compound interest to young Texans.
Texas Just Became the First State to Purchase Bitcoin
Texas is the first state in history to purchase Bitcoin. I prioritized Senate Bill 21 to create the Texas Bitcoin Reserve and to solidify Texas’ leadership in the digital age.
President Trump stated, unequivocally, that he intends to make the United States the cryptocurrency capital of the world. I stand with President Trump and hope to make Texas the epicenter of America’s digital future.
Speaking at the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) States and National Policy Summit Dinner

I was honored to speak at the ALEC States and National Policy Summit Dinner on Tuesday night.
In times of rising federal overreach and bureaucracy, the states must lead the charge — defending liberty, protecting local control, and giving power back to the people.
Texas will continue to stand as a model of economic freedom, educational opportunity, and secure borders. We’re working every day to ensure our policies protect families, promote prosperity, and preserve the independence that defines us.
Thank you to ALEC and to all the legislators and citizens standing with us for the cause of freedom and common‑sense governance.
A Conversation on Leadership in Dallas

Later in the week, I spoke at another event in Dallas about leadership and Charlie Kirk.

Thank you for all your support over the years and for everything you do to keep Texas red. May God bless you and your family, and may He continue to bless the greatest state of all—Texas.
Sincerely,

Dan Patrick
