Take a Selfie on Mars

One of the reasons I’m most proud to represent the San Gabriel Valley is that we are home to NASA’s Jet Propulsion Lab where some of our country’s most brilliant minds are leading the exploration of our universe. This month, we are taking another great leap as NASA JPL prepares to launch the Perseverance Rover on its journey to Mars – and you can be a part of it! On Tuesday, July 21st, I’ll be handing my Instagram over to JPL where we’ll highlight Perseverance, countdown to launch, and even give you the chance to take a selfie on Mars! CA-27 Photo Contest

It’s back! For the 6th year in a row, I am hosting my CA-27 photo contest. And it couldn’t come at a better time. Social distancing may be necessary to defeat the coronavirus, but it also means missing some of our favorite sites and sounds from the San Gabriel and Pomona Valleys. That’s why I want to celebrate what you love about our area with a photo contest.
