Hi there,

Republicans are trying to make it harder to vote in Arizona — again.

State Rep. Alex Kolodin, who's also running for Secretary of State, just introduced a ballot measure that would eliminate Arizona's Active Early Voter List and require voters to request an early ballot every two years with proof of citizenship.

Right now, more than 85% of Arizonans vote early. The early-voter list allows you to automatically receive a mail ballot for every election you're eligible for. It's convenient, secure, and has been a fixture of Arizona elections for years.

Republicans want to eliminate it.

Instead of asking for money today, we want to make sure you and everyone in your network is ready to fight back by being registered to vote. Check your registration status right now at iwillvote.com, then please share this link with five people in your network.

Here's what Kolodin's proposal would do:

  • Eliminate the early-voter list that automatically sends you a ballot
  • Require you to request an early ballot every two years with proof of citizenship
  • Shorten the early voting period, ending it at 7 p.m. on the Friday before Election Day
  • Create new barriers that could prevent eligible voters from casting ballots

This is the same playbook Republicans have used for years: make voting harder, especially for communities they think won't vote for them.

Trump has already said he wants to eliminate mail-in voting nationwide. Now Arizona Republicans are trying to make it happen here first.

We will fight back. But we need to make sure every eligible voter is registered and ready.

Go to iwillvote.com right now to check your registration.

Voting is our most fundamental right. Republicans are trying to make it harder. Let's make sure every Arizonan is ready to defend it.

Thank you,

Arizona Democratic Party
